I Heart Oakland-Alameda Estuary

A grassroots organization dedicated to the ecological and wildlife health of the Oakland-Alameda Estuary. Since 2016, IHOAE has mobilized volunteer teams on the water and on land to remove thousands of pounds of garbage from Estuary Park, Jack London Aquatic Center, and the shores and beaches of the Estuary every year.

Their work directly benefits the Bay Area's harbor seals, bat rays, leopard sharks, great blue herons, and the communities of Oakland and Alameda who share these waterways. Marina operators and boaters are encouraged to get involved β€” volunteer roles range from on-the-water kayak guides to land crews and event logistics.
